2019 Nissan Kicks

Good Housekeeping Institute and Car and Driver magazine paired up to pick the best new cars of 2019. The team tested a mix of 50 new vehicles and selected the best models from a range of categories. In the highly competitive subcompact crossover SUV segment, the Nissan Kicks brought home the top prize.

Good Housekeeping and Car and Driver picked the winners based on industry standards, proprietary protocols, safety, value, handling, design, and technology, which are all strong suits of the Nissan Kicks.

"This super-affordable model checks all the boxes you want in a first car: great fuel economy, a smooth, comfortable ride and standard safety features, along with some extra you wouldn't normally expect," said the editors of Good Housekeeping. "When it comes to the Kicks, it's all about value. You won't find a more solid car at this great of a price."

Car buyers can find the 2019 Nissan Kicks in three different trim levels; Kicks S, Kicks SV, and Kicks SR. Under the hood of every model is a 1.6 liter DOHC 16 valve four-cylinder engine, and a continuous variable valve timing control system. This engine achieves 122 horsepower and 114-pound feet of torque. The engine is additionally mated to an Xtronic transmission, which is smooth and fun to drive.
